The Department of French and Francophone Studies sponsors this internship program in Saint-Omer, France, in which Georgetown students pursue summer internships conducted entirely in the French language. Founded in 2015, the program was born out of the historic connection between Saint-Omer’s Jesuit community and Georgetown’s founder, John Carroll.

This is a six-week program where students will receive an internship in Saint-Omer, France. Past places of employment for our students include local museums, government offices, tourist destinations, natural parks, and educational institutions. You will be able to gain professional experience in French in research, publicity, marketing, and conversation. You will live with a host family during your six weeks in France.

This opportunity is open to undergraduate students who have completed at least one French course at Georgetown and recommended for those who have completed at least Advanced French I.
