African Studies Certificate

(6 courses plus language proficiency)

African Studies Certificate requires a total of 6 courses (18 credit hours) and proficiency in a foreign language. Study abroad in Africa is strongly encouraged, but not required. Proficiency in Arabic, French, Spanish, Portuguese, or proficiency or one year of study of an indigenous African language. There is an optional senior thesis.

  • African Studies Colloquium (INAF-346) or African Studies Capstone course (spring semester only)
